Have you considered pulling a light bulb out of one of your rear lights and sticking the multimeter in the socket? Then you could turn the lights on and touch areas in the trunk to see if you get voltage flowing through the meter. Once you have voltage flowing through the meter, you know you have a good ground... Just a thought, that's how we search for grounds on the airplane...

My 96 Jeep Cherokee Sport must know it's xmas and wanted a few presents.
First up was a new cat because wife complained about the rattling noise.
Then after having that done on the hoist with the wheels hanging down the shocks decided they needed replacing and off course the bolts were broken.
So far new shocks and new cat plus labour all up $600

Circuit breakers offer short circuit protection so yes they'll be fine, what sized cable are you planning to run from front to rear?
Remember the protection device rating needs to be the cable rating maximum, not more, less is ok though, I run 35mm2 cable in mine but the fuses are only 60a....

Have seen 2x100Amp manual reset circuit breakers I thought to put in, but that is more because I wasn't sure how to otherwise get something inline with this big a cable.

I'm guessing ebay? No one uses b&s normally (except for a couple of ebay sellers), especially here, that sized cable is actually 32mm2 so that's smaller then what I run through mine so it's pretty easy to fit to an inline fuse holder or circuit breaker, you could use an inline ANL fuse holder if you want to run large fuses, in the past I have run as large as 90mm2 cable in cars, that is harder to deal with then this "medium" sized cable....
