I'm waiting for the Chief winch mount, so front will go down a little bit... I told Dave from Uneek and he ordered the kit that goes with the bullbar.

Pretty happy with the configuration!

How is the ride in the front using the bullbar front springs without a bullbar? I'd be happy with 50-60mm. I'm not planning a bullbar or winch, just the Chief sump protection plate and maybe the lower front guard. Will also get another Chief recovery point.

I have the whole lot: front guard, sump plate, two recovery points and the nudge from chief. The added weight is not that far from the bullbar (I think). We tried first with the recommended "non-bullbar" kit, overall lift was only 30mm in the front. So we decided to go bigger. Rides great, not as fun as before (60-70mm is a lot of lift!!!), but not unsafe at all. Fuel economy was affected by less than 1l/100 (I'm riding 285/50R20 Continental), but I do ride all the time without the front fascia, so I'm not sure if it would be better (I don't think by much). To be honest, rides close enough to stock. I can't complain.
When on muddies (275/70R18 Bighorns), is a different ball game. But then, it is a proper offroad vehicle ;p

Thanks. With that amount of lift and those size tyres it must make a huge difference to off-road performance. I'd probably only go up to 275/65/18.

Was the original 30mm lift you got without the top plates?

Hi Guys

I have a GC 14 Lerado Diesel and wondering if anyone on here is running DOBINSONS 2"/40mm coils only with the standard struts/shocks.. I only want a bit of lift nothing too crazy and already have 285/50R20 tyres which do fill the guards and only just fit!

Is there any issues with doing just the coils?

I have a MY15 Laredo diesel. Have all the MOPAR bashplates, steel Uneek bar, winch with Plasma rope, Chief Transmission plate and Uneek front plate. Have had a OME lift from the day I bought it and it has been issued for the last 12 months. The OME springs (rated for a bar and winch) sagged something fierce. I swapped out the OME Coils for the Murchison Coils and, with the OME Nitrocharger shocks, had topping out issues all over the place including creaking and grinding and CV vibrations. Swapped back to the OME Coils and put in a Rocky Road 1.75" levelling kit into the front. I'm back to the (excellent) OME ride quality, no noises, no vibrations and the measurements are:
Front (Guard to wheel centre) 575mm
Rear (Guard to wheel centre) 570mm
I'm allowing the spring to 'bed in' a little before getting it aligned, from experience I'll get about 5-10mm 'sag' from an alignment so should be perfectly level.
The Rocky Road 'levelling' kit was only $300 landed in Aus and the 'lift kit' with the front and rear spacers would have been $725 landed.
If I were to have my time and opportunity again, I would keep the stock shocks and springs and go with the Rocky Road kit.
Having said that, if I had my time again I'd go with the Chief hidden winch mount (but what would I attach the aerials and driving lights too and the animal protection of the bar was a huge consideration!

I went with Murchisons kit and had major top out issues on the front end on a trip across the Simpson desert, which ended up costing me a steering rack ($3500, fortunately replaced under warranty). Had the front removed and replaced with ARB springs and struts. Problem solved and the car performs brilliantly. Stu graciously refunded me the price of his removed components and as far as I know is now offering Dobsons (I think) front struts which should overcome that problem. The ARB setup also lowered the front of the car over the Murcho setup by about 20mm still giving me a 40/45 mm lift. I personally thought that was the better lift for the front of a WK2 as it relieved the angle of the driveshafts going to the front wheels which I thought was too acute with the higher lift. Hope that helps. Happy Jeeping
