Default JK: CRD build

Been a member on here for a while and thought I better start a thread. Won't be doing anything too special for a while. Just your usual stuff.
I live in Melbourne and want the car set up for the high country but also for longer touring trips to more remote parts of the country
Bought the car with 100,000km. Researched a bit into the timing belt and got MidnightMods to supply and fit.
Fitted 5x KM2 285/75/16. perfect fit, rubs slightly on sway bar at full lock but nothing bad. I was going buy from overseas but managed to get them for about $280 fitted from Bob Jane locally
The zip on the soft top was stuffed, bought a brand new one for $250
Made up a bracket out of stainless of UHf antenna. There is a perfect hole through the firewall behind the battery.
Fitted some AGM batteries in the rear with a CTEK charger. cables run through hole in firewall and through cabin to rear

Sliders are homemade with some help from a friends. Will add more details when I get a chance.

Sliders are mostly chromoly. Notched with a 44 mm hole saw. And MIGed together. Welded a plate to the chassis and used 14mm bolts to fit Slider. This is done quite often on patrols. Extremely strong and easy to make. I have not seen this done on a jk in Australia before. I am sure someone has done it but haven't seen any photos. I wasn't happy with the current after market options. I believe mounting to the body mounts is not the best way of doing it. Sure it is easier but a big hit may damage the body mount. These were carefully welded to the chassis by someone with plenty of chassis welding experience. I plan on making an an autocad drawing with dimensions and sharing it. Half the time was spent checking dimensions. Would make it quite easy for anyone to copy. I used kbs rust kill paint. It is quite thin and had a few drops though it is extremely hard wearing and friends have used it before on other vehicles.

When I get a chance I will get some better photos and reorganise the ones above.

I made a storage system using timber and plastic tubs. Very simple and lightweight. Used 7mm ply and some some thicker pieces along the edges. The whole thing probably weighs under 10kg. I have tie downs for the fridge and I will be putting some more in to hold down other stuff. Trying to keep anything heavy or sharp underneath so it can't hit occupants. Ie axe, shovel, pulley block etc cannot fly around the cabin. The whole thing is held down with a couple of turnbuckles on the sides. there is a large stud sticking out of the floor that is easy to attach to. It can be removed in about 2 minutes.

Another photo of my sliders

Looks awesome! Funnily enough, I just bought a 2 door CRD in that exact same colour 3 weeks ago. That storage system looks good! I will be also doing some touring but seeing as the JK is stock atm.... need to get the bare essentials going.

Thanks. I really like the colour. I was prepared to buy any colour but so happened to get the one I wanted. I do feel that lighter colours would be better at hiding pin striping though.

You need to make one of these fit
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Android-4...60b5e70&_uhb=1

Just Android, no WinCE crap.

And it has bluetooth so you can use the ODB2 adapter with it to display stats as you drive.
