You should be able to put any similar capacity battery in.
You should be able to get a replacement yellow top from a number of places - I got my last one from Battery World in Ryde.

I've heard a few cases of these batteries dying all of a sudden. Bit scary really. Bit by bit I'm really starting to wonder about the reliability of these jeeps! Hearing quite a few dodgy stories floating around as these things get more kms put on them. I have had no problems so far mechanically and I love my jeep, but it doesn't make me very confident when others are starting to have problems! Fingers crossed!

But good to hear you can just use another battery with similar specs. I've heard its a massive wait if you want an identical replacement through Jeep.

I almost had a similar problem around 6 months ago. Went for a long drive and the battery was like steaming so I took it to the local autoelec and he said it seems to be over charging.

He said when you do long trips leave your head lights on. Since then I haven't had a problem.

I'm fairly sure there will be enough people at Jambo that can lend you a hand to fix it, and probably carrying all the tools you might need as well. PM Jimmy B to put the word out, there has to be an auto electrician in the bunch, and Jeep reps will be on hand.
