Default Brake controller install

Hi guys, I just brought a wh 5.7 to tow my van with and saw on a forum somewhere (I lost the link and searched) that in these you don’t just hack into the wiring harness and Jeep provide a loom extension to patch into. Could anyone here provide some guidance regarding this. Thanks greg

In my 05 WH it was under the steering column hanging out of the loom. It's a green wire from memory. You need to also pick it up at the other end where the loom connects to the trailer socket, as it's not wired into the trailer loom.

Not all had them. Only up to a certain year. I'd say you're running a wire.

I didn't even bother looking for a green wire in my Commander, I ran a 6mm auto cable straight back to the tail that comes off the socket. That way I also know I have a good sized cable able to run any trailer brake setup at maximum efficiency.
