Did it say Check shift procedure or service 4wd system?

There is only one plug in connection & that's to the motor (actuator) on the transfer case, if its not seated correctly you could get issues.
Try unplugging & re-plugging it in a couple of times to clean up the contacts, also inspect the wiring loom around this plug & where it makes contact with the body.

Update on the update - so now I have had a working low range system for 7 days now with about 50 successful low range connections and I went out to make sure it actually worked in the bush - very happy camper for now.
Hopefully it will last - it seems the latest update worked for me.

Clarky - it read 'service 4wd system' for one time only after the update - I cannot explain that.

Yes I made sure with the service manager that this process with the battery charger was preformed.
Funny thing with electrics (windows) is no longer happening either! It feels like a new vehicle now...!
Time will tell.

I hadn't really keeping up to speed with this until last week... I haven't done the flash, nor has Dad and nor has our friends with their Commander...
When I first heard about the recall, and got the letter, it clicked in my mind that because the issue was not really related to vehicles sold in Australia, why should I do it? Aren't I glad I went with my gut on this one...

My mate went out and purchased a 2006 WH 65th Anniv, that had all the fruit, ARB bar, IPF's, OME lift, tyres and etc. But! I wished I'd thought about it before he rushed out, because, wouldnt you know it, its had the flash done, and he was not aware...

So I have spent the better part of the week reading through this whole thread, and forums overseas and seeing just how badly out of hand this got - and then relaying the issues and information onto my mate. Thankfully he's not too worried because he still has his old XJ to go bush bashing in.

However, I went down to his place during the week to try the fuse trick, but to no avail unfortunately. Couldn't try unplugging the shift motor as it was like 9pm in the dark. So I guess, I, through my mate have had to join the conga line, and wait to see what happens

I'm just glad that I'm a skeptic.... Not to mention that stealerships are completely banned from going anywhere near my Commander period.

If I could give any advice on this matter is that go voice the problem with aucustomercare@Chrysler.com
Make sure you mention that N23 update problem. Make sure you mention that you want this fixed because you have contacted the ACCC about this problem.

Book in at your local dealership when ready and say you want the latest update to fix the N23 problem, you may get Huh? from the service manager!
Asked to have the Service Bulletin # '21-022-14 REV. A' done to fix the 'service 4wd system' warning light, unable to place into low range problem.
Also mention that you have contacted Jeep Australia about the problem and you have case number with them.

Jeep Australia paid for the service done on my vehicle!!!! yeah I know....I nearly fell over!

Good luck but if you jump through the hoops, you get to the finish line.
