Default Axle Straightening Part 2

Thanks Wooders.

The figure I got was from Quadratec from memory. i only looked once when i first noticed it bent and checked there to get an idea of cost before exploring my options.

As to how, well. This is my theory. At the time I was traversing a deep rut. The drivers rear wheel left the ground and started spinning. The wheel dropped and grabbed a rock...one thing the claws do like to grab hold of. I can not put finger on anything else that happened that weekend that could have caused it.

FWIW, I wasn't driving like a dick or going hard in any way, just bad luck.

Oh and the shaft was out .075" or 2mm.

Hey Dale, I wouldn't worry too much about the twist in the spline. When I did the Warn upgrade my old axles had a really nice twist to them. Not sure how long they were like that but with all the abuse the TJ cops they stood up pretty well.

the warn axles are supposed to be the best aftermarket units you can get. I could dig up the posts on POR for you or you could wander over there and have a look.

As for buying some spares - you know shane/firetruck is selling his old ones. both dana30 and dana44.

cheers
