Default Limp mode after 5 mins of driving

1997 jeep XJ 2.5tdi
If I turn the ignition off completely it comes back on and has all the power it should but after 5 mins of driving it goes back to the 2k limp mode. Could it be the injector 1 sensor (thought this would be from start up)

Thanks in advance.

Maybe when it warms up the wire coil in the sensor becomes open. Have you tested the sensor while its still hot?
You could keep the engine running & unplug & test the sensor resistance while the engine is running.

Like Layback mentioned could be injector 1....but i would also check fuel cap vent just in case if blocked can create a vacum and restrict the fuel being sucked up to the engine . Then check fuel filter , air filter , clean MAF sensor and last would be temp. sensor and turbo . For now that would all i can think off . Cheers

Really appreciate the reply, I'll try the fuel cap and filter as I haven't done anything maintenance since I got the jeep. Thanks again

Can pressure in the coolant system cause limp mode?

You are worth more money amlav! Removed fuel cap went for a drive 0 issues. I'd have never thought of it causing limp mode. Thank again mate

More likely your car wasn't in limp mode at all . It was just starving for fuel . The IP pump is sucking the fuel from the tank but if fuel cap vent is blocked a vacuum will be created in the tank and the pump would have less and less flowing fuel to deliver to the engine .
Pressure in the cooling system won't take the car in limp mode . Your cooling system it suppose to be presurised anyway up to a set pressure .
Anything over that set cooling system pressure....you've got a problem . BTW the coolant reservoir cap has a one way valve built in to it .Cheers
