That's an interesting point.
The Ryco Z631 has physical dimensions very similar to the OE part number.
However, this particular oil filter does not have the internal valving (pressure non return) that the OE one has.
The Ryco Oil filter that has this valving is the Z596. (but it is dear - $35 and hard to get)
Non Jeep dealers will often just use the Z631 instead of the Z596. The Z631 is more common, cheaper, same size and fits - so they figure why not!?
(nevermind the differences in the internals!)
So - i just get the OE one - and it's $20 cheaper to boot.
