Default 3.0 crd commander OM642 engine oil leak

Hello Guys,

I have a 07 commander with the 3.0 crd OM642 engine & i have an oil leak from around the PCV hose near the valve at the back of the RH rocker cover. It sprays up onto the pipe from the transmission which is above the hose & Valve area. I accumulates at the back of the rocker cover & drips down the back of the head & onto the cat converter & DPF. Hence LOTS of smoke happens.
I cannot get it ti leak when I am stationary & reving the engine, but it will do it if I go for a drive & give it some stick. O.o
It looks like it is coming from where the Trans dip stick is but I just cant pin point it.

Any of you had this problem or am I just special??

Thanks in advance Guys.

Eddy

p.s. this might be a question for JEEPS R US! Richard???

I might post some pics on the weekend & of course this has to happen at Xmas. Grrr

Is it engine oil or trans oil?
Black or red/brown?

Maybe you've got a split trans hose?

there is a drain hole at the back of the engine in the valley, check the valley is oil free. Also the PCV valve can crack and leak oil.

Clarky, I am thinking the PCV gizmo is the culprit.
Only leaks when I give it.
Under normal driving conditions it's fine.
Strange one for sure.
I will check it out over Christmas.

Thanks Clarky
