If you know an electric motor rewinder, they may tell you who they get their wire from. Some electronics stores may be able to help.

Hey, ive found some copper wire that is .10mm thk and rewound it with my drill. Now my multimeter shows a reading of around 4 M Ohms which is far too high. Is it possible to get 97ohms with .10mm?

4Mohm doesn't sound right even with 0.1 wire .

Thanks, it could be my multimeter? I may try put 97ohm worth of resistance on the plug and see if I can trick it out of limp mode. Wonder if that would have any implications.

Cheers

97ohm resistance wont work with an update. I tried.
You could try checking your multi meter with the 97 ohm resistor.
Sounds like you may have broken the wire when you were winding it.

Thanks I will give it another rewind. Do you know if .10mm(being a thicker wire) will require more or less coil winds?

Cheers

Theoretically it should require the same. I suspect its not that critical.
