Let's not muck about. The little pin where the top of the shocker attaches to the chassis is an absolute piece of crap. I now have no rear ones. I now need new rear ones. Serious ones.
Can anyone make me some? Remembering that my engineering skills extend only to hot glue and tech screws, I thought it could be done like this:
- a bolt heated and belted flat on the ends (a job for an oxy and a pound hammer)
- drill out the holes on the flat bits to bolt through to the chassis
- heat and quench etc the whole thing to harden it (I'd have to look up exactly how to do this and how hard I really want it... but you might know already)
... then I can re-attach my rear shockers! The whole kangaroo hop driving style gets old real fast.
Anyone done this before? Anyone reckon they could whip me up a set in half an hour? Do the front ones attach the same way? (If so, I need 4, not 2.)
