While underneath also noticed that the XJ's awesome flexing prowess has at some point resulted in the driveshaft squashing the exhaust pipe next to the sump,
Worthwhile checking the tranny lines as well ... I even found a nick & bend in the edge of the sump on one of the ones here.

Stuck a fresh coat of paint on the ole front bar yesterday. Also pressure washed all the undercarriage in preparation for a nice coat of chassis black.
