Here's a roof console i made a few years ago. It's just an AV input screen so you could use that with a PC and mount the pc in the console or elsewhere in the jeep.

cheers

Jeeps, you don't have any other pics on how you made your roof console, and how did you waterproof it - cos we know you run topless from time to time.

Emma, Ando et al, I built TJ and CJ consoles for a while, TW has one in his TJ if you get a chance have a look.
He may have a display one in his shop still, and POLY may have one.
I used C channel galvanised rafters, cut to fit around the roll bar and a bracket bolted to the windscreen, under the visor screws wrapped in marine carpet and for bling factor a piece of alum tread plate for the top.
My CJ has one with all the switches for extras, amp, o/h lights, UHF up there out of sight and away from the water.
Have a look for the write up here, PM me if you want more details- I haven't built any for a couple of years, also like to do a PC for one of my jeeps one day so maybe we can trade ideas?

Thanks for the info Gildo, I've seen your work (in itchys) and its what inspired me to get this little project underway finally.
I'll probably be calling on your expertise when it comes time to do the final build of the console.

Jeeps, love the look of your console, but it's mighty fat. Do you ever hit your head on it? I'm forever shuffling between the drivers and passengers seat, so would prefer to keep it as slim as possible.
How do you have it mounted either end (particularly the windscreen end)?

Maybe I'll just do that, while I'm there I'll send him your love.

I don't have many other pics. I didn't make it waterproof as it's just something i knocked up over a weekend when i had some spare time to see if i'd use it. i figured that if it rained i'd pull the top up over it or put the bikini top on. On top, there is just a thin piece of board tacked with screws into the top sides of the console and there's some thin rubber or foam from clarke rubber in between. I used it for about a year and then I transplanted the gear elsewhere and havn't used the console in years... i don't miss it, it's not for me anymore Here's the only other pic i could find:

On the windscreen end, i found a 3mm thick metal bedroom cupboard roller lock thinggy in Bunnings that looked perfect so i bolted it to the front of the console. Due to the shape of the 'thinggy' it slide down into the footman loop then i used two d clamps on the other end to attach it to the rollbar and tightened them. It stayed that way for ages but i havn't run it for years.

cheers
