Default A Brisbane Newbie

G'day Everyone.

I won't bore you too much, however, I have moved to Australia from the UK (I know, I know NOT another one!).

I have owned 2 x Jeep Grand Cherokees in the past in the UK and both were 4.7l V8 petrol that were converted to LPG - it was a cost thing! Honestly!

Anyway, the wife and I would like to get a Jeep (we think) and I am going to be using the forum to do as much homework as possible, without asking too many dumb questions (hopefully!). We are looking for this to be a car that we can take camping, pulling a boat etc generally enjoying the phenomenal Australian outdoor lifestyle!

Thanks for letting me join (oh and come and live in your amazing country!)

Cheers

Welcome to the Great Southern Land Bezman

What sort of capabilities, size and price range you looking at? I just swapped from a 2 door JK wrangler to a new Cherokee KL Trailhawk. Some say the interior luggage space is a little small but it's only the wife and I so no probs there. Great onroad, preety capable offroad and a 2.2 tonne towing capacity.

Hello Dave,

We could go either way if honest. We could go all in and get one as our only car - which may cost a few $$$K or we might go with something older (2002 /2003) and save some $$ on the purchase price and do what needs doing (within reason) such that we have a vehicle that we can use for camping and fun etc whilst having a smaller car for city use.

Cheers

Valpacer,

Cheers for the welcome mate!

We may well just take you up on that offer of joining in! Somehow I don't think the Mrs idea of camping is consistent with my past "camping" experiences from HM Forces.....I don't think I am going to get away with a poncho, racing spoon, and pork sausages with beans for 4 days straight whilst reminding her that "Civvies pay good money for this".

As for Brissy over the UK - You are SOOOO right there!

Cheers
