Default Only one thing stopping me buying a Wrangler

I've always had an interest in the Wrangler and always wanted to own one. I've driven a few as well as some Cherokees and like it.
Except.

The legroom...

Drivers left leg has zero room! I can't stand it after 10mins. I've read a few threads and ppl say they just get used to it. I know I won't be able to.

Has anyone done any surgery on the transmission tunnel to give about 100mm more room? Is they enough clearance under there to cut excess away. I'm going to have another look at another one tomorrow to see if there is the slightest chance of shrinking the tunnel.

Any help or insight would be great.

I just lift my leg a little & slip my foot through under the clutch pedal to stretch it out.

I also did the accelerator wedge as the first mod to bring the accelerator pedal up to close to level with the brake. That means you can sit further back & gives more leg room. (Just not for a passenger behind you! )

Can't say I've ever noticed it. Mines a manual and I've have done some very long driving stints in it without an issue. I'm not that tall though so that probably makes a difference.

If you aren't comfortable then maybe spend your money elsewhere. There is no use spending big bucks if you aren't enjoying the drive.

I've never noticed it, but then, mine's an auto.
I can stick my left foot anywhere. Under the seat, on the dash, over the passenger side............

When I got my rear airbags fitted at ARB, the guy doing the job complained to me that there wasn't enough headroom and he had to lean down to drive it to stop his head from hitting the roof.

I forgot that I always leave the spider mesh sun shade in because my head doesn't reach that far. He would probably have had another 2 -3 inches clearance if it wasn't there.
