Default 2005 Hemi fluid lines (PS and transmission)

Hey team,

Seems that mine is getting to that age where these things start to play up as it looks like I've got weeping from both systems (plus awful power steering whine).

Do you know if the US models use the same lines as us? I suspect the transmission is the same, but not sure about the P/S.

For the power steering it does that annoying loop across the front cross member so I am tempted to do away with it as there is already a cooler in the loop from factory so not sure that back and fourth loop is doing much to cool it with a bash plate in front of it. Anyone gone down the route of a custom set of hoses?

Often wondered why they went to the expense of having the extra loop. Don't think it is for cooling in this case but to dampen the sound maybe?

when my P/S hoses leaked I used a heat gun to heat the factory crimps until the started to smoke and no more leaks.

Thanks for the replies guys, will see what the local hose specialist says as would be nice to remove this oil leak from the list as I've found the Hemi to be pretty good with oil leaks as a whole.

hi
The power steering is rhd only, and when I finally found one new the price was more than I paid for the wh blown hemi on gas.
Got one made and the beauty is the joints swivel.
Got the auto pipes from rockauto have not fitted yet but they look very average, (china.)

Hope this helps . The steering hose was dear by comparison too other brands but still cheaper than origional.
Many quoted in UK are not rhd but lhd which are cheap.
Very hard too find the actual number without going to dealer.
cheers

FYI for those looking to attempt the transmission lines they are a bit of a pain and think that they must be cut to be removed. Where they snake around the steering rack and its connections is the core problem. I remove the exhaust mid-pipe to try and give me some room but still no luck with that extra space unfortunately.
