Default JK Door Rattle Fix & Mt Coree Pic

All,

I too have had the door rattle issue with the drivers pillar, tried everything to fix it with no results until yesterday. I have added a piece of foam to the under side of the striker, refer attached. It works a charm!!! Relief, at last!!!

I have also added a pic of my Jeep moments before slip and slide action near Mt Coree!!! Hair raising stuff...beware in the wet!!

Cheers Cashy.

Went out wheeling on the weekend and the passenger side door was rattling something chronic - was annoying the carp out of me. Havent had a chance to have a look yet, but it just recently had the door seal replaced due to water leaking and you have to really slam it to close so I would be surprised if it was this?

Guess next time I will get the missus to open it whilst running on the rocky dirt roads and see if it stops.

mine only does it over bumps (speed humps etc...) and is not so much as a rattle and a thump type of sound... mechanic said the striker needs to me moved and done up tighter as he believes it has moved a few MM...

Mine pissed me off as I left the dealer, it's a late 2010 unlimited , I googled the noise after a while and found that just a bit of 10 mm wide gaffer tape wrapped around the striker itself shut it up, I hadn't even thought about since until reading this. Literally just wrap it around the bit the door clamps round four or five wrap, the door shuts, sort of squeezes the tape. Problem fixed

I tried the tape and adjusting the latch however none of these really worked. Actually the taoe worked fora while but then stopped. The dealer also adjsuted the latch but it just meant I had to slam the door and it didn;t stop the noise.

I guess it's a case of whatever works!

Good luck.

Cashy.
