Anyone know if Chrysler/the dealerships are making any progress on solving these issues? When I was at my dealers last week for some warranty work they had two virtually brand new 2011 JK CRDs in there for the DPI related issue (MIL lights, limp mode), & the service manager admitted they were scratching their heads trying to work it out.
the manufacturer will resolve the issue quicker than the dealers will and the issue will become one of those "expect this to happen every so often" things that is common to every other manufacturer using DPF on their diesel vehicles.

Well not sure if im the first to report back, HOWEVER MY JK IS BACK!!!

Mine started to have trouble at the end of feb, then off the road at the end of March.

The new part looks massive!!, so should not cause any problems now!!

Its been a long road. However worth it now that im back in it again. Also I was told by the dealer no one will be able to order CRD's till next year now as there shutting the plant down for reno's...

Just happy to be back in my CRD JK

Other than the flat battery earlier this week, mine has run very well since the DPF was replaced back in Feb.
I hoping its all behind me and now I can just drive it.

You say the part is Big - what did they replace?

Apparantly our diesel fuel here in OZ, though the quality has got better recently, is still poor quality and burns dirty & is full of sulphur compared with the European stuff (apparantly the reason why many of the European car & light truck diesels weren't available here until relatively recently). So I'm wondering if the European-standard DPF originally fitted to the VM 2.8L CRD was just too small for our sub-standard diesel & clogged too easily, with the remedy being to fit an oversized one designed for a much bigger motor?

Yep, the tape stopped the noise. Thanks... A plastic sleeve over the latch from the factory would be nice....

Yeah not sure 100%, however this part is a new design when compared to the ones from earlyer this year... It's a slightly different layout and a much bigger part when I had a look under the JK. So will still try and use the best fule I can find, BP Ult or Caltex Vortex... However the guys in service said it should be the end of all the issues...

Would you consider this is why Australian diesels seem to need servicing twice as often as European diesels?
