Default Jeep to offer 5 year warranty

Just read this article, in the SMH, sounds good.

http://www.drive.com.au/motor-news/j...23-gujtdd.html

The five-year warranty is transferrable to the next owner, should the original buyer sell. Roadside assistance will be free for owners as long as they continue to service at official Jeep dealers.

The new deal applies to all 2017 model year Jeeps but in order to keep existing customers happy Jeep will offer the extended warranty, roadside assistance and capped price servicing to owners of 2015 and 2016 model Jeeps for $1950.
Jeep will also offer three-year and five-year pre-paid scheduled maintenance plans that can be bought at the time of buying the vehicle.

The changes to the diesel servicing interval are the biggest news. Pushed out to 12 months, not sure I would want to wait that long though.

I reckon it's all about the stealerships losing customers to servicing elsewhere at more reasonable rates.

Respect that they have extended the warranty period to 5 years. They needed to do something to counteract the (sometimes warranted) negative press they have gotten over the last few years for not building reliable vehicles.

And I guess they need to match all the Korean 5 year warranties too. Might have to look into that for mine

I asked the question on the Jeep Facebook page and apparently it won't apply to our 2014 models as the "componentry" has changed....... what a load of crap.
At the very least we should get the same service intervals as the USA
