Default Vic High Country - Mods Required?

hey guys,

I'm planning a trip up the Vic high country.. I currently have the following mods:

Outback Armour Lift
Nudge Bar with Lighting,
Front / rear recovery

I have a 2014 WK2 Petrol.

What other mods/precautions should I be considering?

Cheers

A pair of Maxtrax and some underbody protection from the inevitable rutted and rocky tracks should have you sorted.

We just got back from the Vic high country with the Sydney jeep club... there were 2 WK2s in the convoy... front n rear recovery points, underbody protection, 2in lift, recovery tracks n recovery kit, good radio, satellite phone (maybe) we did run into some locked gates,... fuel shouldn’t be a problem for you....

Decent tyres, a compressor, and an air tyre inflator with guage (can be used to deflate as well as inflate).

Make flexible plans that don't put yourself in the position where you need to use an access track after rain. This will significantly reduce your risk and also prolong the longevity of the tacks.

Don't treat tracks like a 4wd amusement park (this along with people shooting private livestock are the main reasons you find a lot of tracks now closed).

Also take note of suspect campers and report people you see acting illegally or if you hear of damage following a trip. If we don't start cracking down on idiots we will loose access.

All Terrain L/T tyres
Air compressor and gauge
Under body protection (mainly engine as transmission usually sits high enough).
A CB as some of the tracks are only single lane and its best to know if someone is coming the other direction.
Basic recovery gear
Fridge full of BEER
A group of mates to help you drink it.

And a OBD-II scanner (like Bluedriver) so when that engine light comes on you can actually know why and make an informed decision whether its okay to continue.
