Took the serpentine belt off to start with a bit of a service of the cooling system and checked each of the pulleys, all spinning freely. Should the water pump pulley spin easily? Seemed to spin very easily. I have not been getting any over heating and the radiator warms up along with the top radiator hose so I assume its all good, just never looked at this stuff before.

Thinks yourself lucky JJ. When I misplace tools they are usually gone for good as several times I have left tools on the trailer gaurd left a job and two days later wonder where they have gone. My latest was the catcher I left it sitting on the trailer tool box. I was lucky this time as only 10mins past when I thought I should check out this exhaust shop I was driving by and price up some headers. That is when I noticed it, Pheww LOL or not, if it had gone.

Well cause its raining here I am doing a couple of things on the XJ. I have now hopefully finished centreing the steering wheel, after about 35 attempts.

Then gonna change the the one remaining worn rear eye leaf spring bush. Thanks Dave & Colin you guys have been champs. Dave & Colin were not able to supply me with the bushes I needed on time due to some overseas freighting issues so they sent them express and did not charge me the post, thanks Guys...

Just finished the right rear eye bush all good now. Took a bit of work as the bush press I had was too small by like 7mm wide. Might have to get a mate to make me one, slightly bigger. Hopefully the next time I can press it in rather than having to use a hammer & socket and bracing the spring so it doesn't flex. Still, easier than removing the whole spring and putting it in the press.

Bit annoyed though as I still have drivers side sag. It is only 10mm but still... Hopefully the new King coils will level it back up.

regards A
