Default Wh service

Hello All, I am in a quandry, jeep due for 10000k service bought WH nov last year, I have always had my 03 commodore serviced with a truly great mechanic for years, he services, r/rover and jags as well as all other makes, my problem is the dealer I bought it from jeep in Melb has come with 3 year extended warranty and roadside assist, in RACV anyway, not read or heard good reports about dealer servicing and charging, states I have to get it serviced there or void warranty, do not know which way to turn, I really like and trust my mechanic , could anyone please help!! are warranties worth the paper they are written on, 06WH has done 109000km, in very good condition, mechanic says it in very good condition, which way to go? Regards, Hicko.

The recommended service interval according to the owners manual (page 160) for the Diesel is every 20,000 km (12 months) Schedule A.
If the 3 year extended warranty uses the same service schedule as jeep get it serviced by the dealer every 20,000 as per manual and in between (10,000) by your mechanic.

I would go with every 10,000Klm's hicko1. Cheap insurance I think.
I too have recently purchased a WH Grand CRD and are in a similar predicament.
I purchased mine privately. Its a one owner, bought and serviced from the same Chrysler / Jeep dealership, however I have a really good mechanic and are thinking about having him service it from now on.
Does anyone have a strong opinion on not having their pride & joy serviced by a Chrysler / Jeep dealership??

Cheers, Craig

Don't get me wrong, I think 20,000 km is far to long between services. I try and change my oil and filters every 5,000 to 10,000 depending on how hard I have treated her & checked over at my mechanic every 12 months.
If hicko 1 services every 20,000 by the dealer there should be no reason to reject a warranty claim.

Default WH service

Hey Clarky and Cherokee, Really appreciate input on this subject, I wonder if you could tell me rough estimate of cost of 10000k service, I know it depends if parts are needed , but it would give me rough idea, Thanks you blokes, yeah agree, don't think I would go over 10000k, Regards, Hicko.

I have an '08 WH CRD and get it serviced at the dealer every 10000ks. the costs vary between $309 and around $700. The only reason I get the dealer to do it is because of the extended warranty that comes with the lease, otherwise I'd do it myself and save a bucket load of $$$$.

Hey GMEMUD, Thanks a lot for that, I still inclined to go my mechanic, as I know him very well, and do not know dealer, but not heard good reports, I might have to forego warranty, which really worries me, thanks again Regards, Hicko.
