Yeah that's the downside, petrol can be thirsty especially in daily commute rather than a good run in the country. But if you like performance the V8's are streets ahead of the diesel whether tuned or not. The diesel is a strong motor though, but hopping out of my WK2 diesel into my old WJ V8 petrol has me near on kangaroo hopping it for the first take off. Yes I've read the claimed figures for the current diesels and V8's...stuffed if I know where they pulled those from because they don't happen in the real world.
