Nice work, but 265kg hanging off the towbar? Over bumps that could be a lot more, is there any additional strength on the towbar side of things?

No, other than the arb towbar seems to be constructed very well with a lot of 6mm plate underneath and it seems there is more steel in the arb towbar compared to a hayman reece, there is also one tie down that comes of the bike and connects to the ute, this would help a little, the towbar is rated at 300kg , i do realize that is a static load and these forces would be far greater, anyway if you see a bike and bar on the road somewhere between Melb and Mildura you know it failed, but i am very confident it will still be attached .

LOL. I like your thoughts

It sounds like it should be good to go though given its rated to 300kg. Seeing as how a van or trailer with 300kg bar weight is going to potentially bounce just as hard on the bar. Again, nice work.

I saw another variation at the shopping centre on the weekend but designed to carry am electric wheel chair, or maybe the mobility scooter.

Anyway, it was a fold down tray attached in a very similar manner, but when folded down had a 14in shopping trolley type wheel at the end to support the extra weight. Was pretty cool.
