I don't mind it, and I'm far from the target market :)

Cheers
Steve

Looked like a cheap porno. Maybe that's why I didn't hate it.
Then halfway through a "Jeep" ad they start talking about chrysler & dodge...... Think the marketing dudes need a lesson in brand isolation.

Saw it on TV last night and thought it was great. Definately seen much worse in the past but this has a great soundtrack (Potbeleez) and just shows people enjoying life and using their Jeeps.

Also like the CJs thrown in the footage for good measure!

Matt.

Ok, so to try and be constructive and put some reasoning behind my dislike for the advertisement.

I think they need to put an Australian spin to the montage. Perhaps some images of people visiting iconic places in Australia in their jeeps, Fraser island, Ayres rock ect. This would help potential clients and current owners make a connection with the jeep brand that has local links. In so creating a lifestyle image of jeep that is connected with the Australian landscape, not images which show the Grand Canyon in the background. Imagine a Wrangler getting some articulation in front of Ayres rock or a Grand Cherokee crossing a sandy creek at central station Frasier Island. Jeep Australia needs to use images we, Australians, can relate good experiences to, not experiences that Americans relate to. This, in my opinion, is where the campaign falls down.

I like it, good to see that they are incorporating a variety of Jeep models from the past - CJ's and MB etc. not just concentrating on the latest releases.

Demonstrates the connection to the past models and that their is only one Jeep! :-)

Couldn't care if it has no Aussie symbolism, after all it's a Yanky car, why waste the coin?
The presenter does mention that in the coming months the Journo's will be taking the new GC for a test run and this will be used for footage.....maybe their biding their time?

Those images aren't even from the USA specifically. I think you will find they're from all over the world and Chrysler AU have saved some coin by grabbing whatever video files Chrysler group have on hand.

I like the ad but it would be better with some iconic Aussie destinations as you suggest.
