Default Blend door fix in Perth Bunbury

Hi, does anyone in Perth or Bunbury know a mechanic who can fix my 2003 wg jgc blend door for reasonable price ? Have heard that it may cost in region of $1200, cannot afford that kind of money.
I am not competent to do it myself as have vision issues and lack mechanical expertise. I need it done as my wife cannot handle being in car if aircon not working. Hope someone can help...

One of these kits is the way to go:

About 30 minutes to install if it is just your primary blend doors. The record door is a bit more effort. Very easy job that you can do yourself if you have some basic mechanical abilities a some rudimentary tools.

Thanks Jason, but having looked at the video it seems a very big job, and it is recommended that a pro does the repair.
My Grand Cherokee is the limited model and has the dual control feature.

Would love to hear from any Perth or south west owners who have had similar problem with their JGC limited, and or mechanic recommendation. Thanks.

Any mechanic will charge heaps to do this job. Best to do it yourself. I've done it to both my WJ Limited's. The kit comes with pretty detailed instructions, just work your way through and you'll be fine. There's also heaps of write ups on forums over the years with pics etc (usually for LHD so you'll need to imagine them mirrored, but you'll get the idea).

I'd go to a mobile aircon bloke rather than a mechanic. If they don't know about the fix when you call, try another. It's common enough that you should be able to find someone who knows what to do.

At least buy the parts suggested as the correct way to fix this problem is very expensive as the AC system needs to be drained/disconnected and the full dash needs to come out.

Any competent mechanic should be able to fit this kit for you in an hour or two.
