I have not been able to work on the frame assembly at all which is frustrating. Honey to do jobs needed catching up and have taken longer than I thought. Like to knock them off after finishing each little stage along the way.
Has given me time to think about what to do with the frame once finished. Not sure if to buy some spray painting gear and use the KBS coating system in satin black, http://www.kbs-coatings.com.au/kbs-chassis-coater-kit or powder coat in satin. With the KBS coat I would use that followed by then filling and imperfections before covering with top coat. That would give me a better over all finish and is the order in which you have to do it with that paint process. Could do the same over powder coat too I guess but don't know if you can use filler on top of powder coat? But then again, as this will be a driver and most of the frame wont be seen once complete, maybe I am putting too much effort into the final finish anyway?

The other thought I have is doing something really different and doing it a copper/black hammer tone maybe?

Would go with the outside colour that is at the top of the list at the moment.

Otherwise a black/silver hammer tone?

Black

Silver

Opinions?

I don't think your putting in too much effort Gojeep. You've started off at a particular standard, continue with your standard.

I'm loving that bronze on the rod. Gorgeous.

Maybe continue your body colour onto the chassis?

cheers

I find powder coat on chassis chips too easy.
Hammer tone dust settles more in the indents and stands out.
Some of the water base urethane type paints are very flexible.

Good feed back there desertthucker. Always prefer to hear first hand experience. Bruggz351, think you are right and would be silly to put the effort in now and not in the final finish too. Prefer a contrast to the body colour I think though. Maybe the KBS system is the way to go then? Just got to find a good respirator when the time comes as have become allergic to paint in the last decade or so. Small bits outside I am alright with though.

Another good example of doing things properly, it is always a joy to see a job done right, it can also serve to help inspire others to do their mods/projects properly as the standard of some of the mods getting around is pretty ordinary to say the least.
It is the ordinary ones that make the good mods hard to get complianced.

As has been said by many others, good job Marcus, keen to see how it turns out, being an amateur metal worker I can fully appreciate the effort involved...

Keep up the good work....

I too like the look of that KBS gear. Worth a second look I reckon.
