Air compressor choices
Just back from Elim Beach NQ, let our tyres down for some sand driving, my air compressor died re-inflating all four tyres so I'm in the market for a replacement. Anyone wanting to give me some recommendations based on real-world use? Really appreciate your comments.

ARB are the best I would say, also bloody expensive. I have a Gasweld one 150lpm connected to a tank. Pretty good cost me $200 trade price. It is a big mutha 45amp and it is very similar to the one in the current Autobarn catti. I suspect it may be the same one rebadged. It pumps a lot of air until the pressure reaches about 60-70lb and then she slows down. It is still fairly quick just not like my 240v 15a one, which I should not have expected when I bought it. You need an aux battery to run it unless you have the car running as it does draw a lot of current. 4 tyres may be ok but 8 might be pushing it.
regards A

I've had a Bushranger Max Air II for about 3 years now and it's never missed a beat. Wasn't cheap but never let me down, usually faster than other compressors that my mates use (whom usually have smaller tyres as well) and has on occasion pumped their tyres up as well after their compressors died. I'm no techno guru so I can't quote flow rates etc but I would have no issues buying another one.

Like seacomms, I've been using a $100 eBay special for 6 months. Pumped 3 cars with 33s reasonably quickly.

I've got the twin cylinder ebay one as well. Did a set of 33's and then my 35's without stopping. It's hard mounted in the rear of my XJ though so it's out of the dirt and dust etc, this always helps with the cheap compressors that have a fairly basic filtration system on them I've run it for about 6 months now, the single cylinder one I had I ran for about 6 years (also an ebay special) and it now live in my daily driver as an emergency compressor for that.
Cheers
Steve

My ARB did my JK (33's) and another car in less time than one of the others did their own with a TJM. Going to mount it & install a cylinder for it.
