Transmission in Limp mode
Hi all,
My poor KK rig (124k's) is currently running on Limp mode, fixed on a gear.
She won't shift into any other forward gear.
The tranny has recently had a flush done to it.
From recollection this has the 42RLE transmission.
Has anyone experienced this issue? what was the fix?
Thanks in advanced

I’ve got nothing mate, have you got access to a error code reader? Even at auto stores these are getting reasonably affordable.

Thanks KKNut for looking at this thread.
Just did a quick check on the dash for the error and nadda.
Yeah may need to the an ODBC II reader and see what codes come up.
Cheers

Have a quick scan of the trans and the TCM, for possible loose connectors.
Limp mode is engaged as a protective system, a common reason for limp is when there is a disagree between the electronic shift position and the manual shift position it can also be induced by other failures, but usually there is a code set because the computer sees a disagree of other fault and triggers limp mode and simultaneously sets a code..

I had two times trans limp mode ,until now , with my kk. First was a loose speed sensor of the right rear wheel (1 min to fix it) ,the second was at the first ride after my trans liquid change (went back, mechanic reset the code and finished). My mechanic said something about emptying and refilling the transmission pan and the TCM diagnose difference between revs sensor and transfer speed sensor. Excuse me but I cant explain this better. I hope you to fix this.

Thanks Doum and Classic Boy for sharing your experiences.
Just got access to the ODBC reader and two errors came out;
P0750 - Which I think is the solenoid
P0882 - Which may be the speed sensors.
As per Doum & Classic Boy, will do the cheaper route and check for loose connection.
