Have too agree I added a winch to my ARB bullbar was the biggest mistake i ever did, bounced around like a yo yo on tracks especially on the beach in ruts was always bottoming out. I eventually went with ironman front shocks and 10mm spacers to level out the KJ after i got the Murchinson lift. Very happy with it just wish i could find bigger shocks with longer travel.
My advice dont waste your money on a winch use it for upgrading suspension or replacing worn bushes had mine for 2 years never used it once (Took it off and sold it), and agree with Glend if you think your going extreme your in the wrong model great for the beach and moderate tracks anything else be careful.

Got most of my parts to do the suspension upgrade in about a week and just waiting on a few tie rod ends.
Made up some washers for the clevis lift. The washers required some work to make it fit.

The TJM front shock came with some spacers, but all they do is compress the spring so I won't be using them.
The shocks seem to be built well and the springs are heavy duty. The springs and shocks were not marked for left or right.

*The lower control arms are likely to be worn, mostly where the lower strut bolts to it.

Thanks guys for the input.
Darren, I will get it checked out early next week if I already have the top plates. If I don't have them, would that be the better way to go instead of the clevis lifts? I have the rest of Stu's lift kit including the upper arms.

Glend, yes your input is always welcome just as much as everyone else's. So many people with so much knowledge in here.

As to the winch. Well I like to have one just in case. Yes you are correct 99% of the time I have a mate with me that cloud snatch me out but I never need him to. The one time he is not there knowing my luck I get stuck. So I rather have it and not need to use it then not have it and need to use it.

I have some washers I wanted to use as front clevis spacers, and these are 6mm each. The TJM lift is meant to give me 30mm to 40mm in the front (over stock).
The TJM spring is rated at 460.

The TJM kit also includes a 5 mm and 10 mm spacer that go just below the spring.

I was going to use 12mm clevis spacers on each side for the front, which should give me about 18mm to 20mm total lift. This should net me around 50mm to 60mm total lift in the front.

I was also contemplating whether I should use the small 5mm TJM spacer, but worried it might be too high and cause issues with the stock UCA (brand new).

What do you think ?

Do you have JBA upper control arms? Stock upper control arms cannot achieve wheel alignment specs with that lift as a result it will look pigeon toed and give you uneven tyre wear as well as change the handling.

I have a stock control arm.

I called Murchinson Products, and they said 1.5" is minimal and the stock arm should handle it.

Should I upgrade to the JBA arm even with the minimal lift ?
