Default JK new gearbox oil vs 286,000 gearbox oil

G'day again folks
Just thought I'd post a pic of my manual transmission oil that I just replaced on my 2008 JK CRD. L is new right is 286k km old.

My manual indicates that you never have to replace the transmission oil... but I beg to differ looking at what came out and the magnet.

I found that rare earth product called NSG370 transmission fluid on the web..
The only recommended oil you should use apparently.. VERY hard to get hold of in Australia.. whereas in the US ..it practically comes out of the tap!.

Yes Farwest.. I agree.. once I had drained the box didn't have much choice on what I had to put in... so will have time to save up for another couple of "quarts" of the Mopar NSG370 manual transmission fluid (part no. 04874464).
I got the two I put in from the states for about $160AU all up including delivery but not sure I will find that bargain again hahaha...

Jeeezzz thats expensive
Got the Mopar oil from my local dealers here in England for £7.50 ($13 aust )
They said they never use it as most Wranglers they get in are autos,
Got 4 bottles in the garage now (just rechecked) and change it every 2 years or so on my 2007 built 2.8CRD
The dealership changed hands couple of years back and the rest of the stock was sent to another in my area as the new owners didn't want it.
Think I'll go on the 'hunt' and see if I can grab some more

Don't suppose you're on the same clutch after that many KM's / miles ?
