Default Snorkle for WJ CRD 2.7L

Hi

I'm planning to fit a snorkle to my WJ Grand 2.7L CRD. I've had two occasions where the airfilter box has been filled with mud/water, although nothing passed the airfilter, it was pretty scarry. I'm looking at several options:

a. Solid steel 60 > 75mm Exhaust tube from the existing airfilter box, straight out the side, then along the top and beside the righthand side of the bonnet and up along side the windscreem.

b. Flexible metal tube from the airfilter box through the righthand side engine bay wall, then under the RHF mudguard, above the plastic linings too just infront of the RHF door and the up alongside the windscreem as above.

Soooo before I start cutting I would like to hear from anyone who's already tried/done something simmilar. Why reinvent the pitfalls for myself or maybe you had better plans?

Regards

Mannie

i think option A is a beta idea. I have done this b4 on my old pajero and it worked vary well. I used 3" exhaust and bought some 3'' mandrel bens aswell. It turned out very neat....... Option B sounds to hard and flexible tubing can get holes in it mush easier which will defeat the purpose. Just make sure u get the hole in the right place and stick masking on the guard where u plan on drilling. This will give u a neater cut, stop the paint from chipping or scratching and give u an area to draw and and mark ur cut. Hope it works out well............

Better plan.

Sell the WG .... >>>>>>>>>>> .... buy a JK Unlimited Rubicon CRD. They'll be lots of aftermarket accessories available for the JK.
