Default Maps update!

I know that this has been posted before, but I just want to ask if anyone has any “up to date” news regarding JEEPS position on Map Updates?

From what I have found it appears that people have been encouraged to “complain” to Jeep regarding the lack of Updates for Maps, but this seems to be falling on Deaf Ears where JEEP is concerned.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in looking into commencing a “CLASS ACTION” against Jeep for its “FAILURE TO SUPPLY UPDATED MAPS TO CUSTOMERS”?

Probably buckley's chance of updated maps at this point, and even less chance of a class action.

It’s dead in the water and as car manufacturers move to Apple/android Platform, we are just old tech now. My Lexus 2012 and Toyota are CD based so updates by CD ended in 2016.

In car ones always seemed problematic so it wasn't a biggy when I was shopping, my current Navman was bought in 2016 and still gets updates and I can move it to my old ute if needed.. I don;t think many car makers are really interested in their navigation systems after they cash your cheque........pity they didn't run on a SD card from one of the big names so you could just plug and play the updates.

I have to check what version I have in mine, seems pretty well up to date, but then again I'm not a city dweller, where new roads are being built.
I find Google maps are the go, no need for Data or WiFi to allow them to operate, step by step voice directory saves looking at the phone, just leave it in the console

There was a member on this forum “Mousie” who had managed to write a script to load other maps onto the jeep head unit but it was involved.
You had to buy a licensed copy of what ever map, extract the licence files and reload the system with his files.
I did try but the system would not accept the maps on my car.
In the end i just bought a video interface module which gives you carplay etc on your current headunit so you dont loose any functions.

Does that mean you can use carplay on the Uconnect? Is there an android version?

I just found this - kind of pricey
