Did JEEP charge you a fortune for this or replace as a waranty, I have had nothing but trouble by JEEP dealer service center and really don't want to take it back. The service manager is not a very nice person (keeping it clean)

All (most) of my warranty repairs were met with compliance by the dealer. I had one issue with a radiator hose rubbing the steering bolt that they tried to blame on me with an aftermarket airbox, until it was found that the aftermarket airbox provided an increase in clearance for said radiator hose over the stock option, and that it was a manufacturer fault that led to me dumping all my coolant on the road.

That being said, I'm now a few years out of warranty and have had a couple of issues that have been met with the same attitude from the dealer, just a rather large bill at the end of the exchange.

Now I don't have local dealer support (they pulled away from FCA due to their dealings with them) and I now have to travel 1500km for the nearest access to a starscan if any faults come up in future. Thinking about buying my own scan tool on this basis

Hey man I had alot of dramas with the same code. I replaced the crank position sensor and the camshaft sensor but still had the same problem. Checked the wiring harness and it was all good. Ended up replacing the reluctor wheel on the crank it was damaged.

Going through this now as well. Trying to find the part here is a pain and waiting for a shipping quote from the USA.

As for if it is a big job, should be a 10mm wrench and 10 minutes of your time. Lots of videos on the Tubes that are for Jeeps.

I got a OBD II bluetooth one off eBay for about 30 bucks and registered my VIN in it for another 30 on an app for Jeep codes. It brings up everything and can clear codes etc. Has been pretty helpful and can get realtime diagnostics while driving around. Always an option!

Hi Guys - thanks for the threads - Im a long time lurker but first time poster.

I have the 2.8CRD Sport and its also cutting out at random times while driving- a few scary moments!! and is sometimes hard to start.

Just where is this sensor located? Its not above the starter motor that I can see as shown in the 2.7l engine posts.

or is it the cam position sensor on the top of the front of the engine. This is an easy access and replace job.

Thanks guys.

Steve
