That looks awesome Cody!
Is it custom?

I was thinking of leaving the spare on the trunk but if you are right Woz this could be a problem. Mounting the spare on the rack requires a different load distribution and I suspect heavier frames than I have.

Might have to look into this tyre mounting situ.

Cheers all.

Check out jeepfabrication as they have some good ideas and then go to jeeperman.com (follow the links from the swing out tyre carriers page) and checkout some of the ideas they've got in yankie land.

This is one of those things that could be done quite effectively just by welding a good gate like frame to accomodate the spare and all sorts of gear. But how the hell do you make a strong gate hinge/post with only the bumper thickness to support it - u cant go onto the body - cant seem to put a brace bace to the chassis...

How is that done?

Ive seen the ideas on using locking hubs and all but the whole system will still put a rear and downward moment on the rear chassis mounts?

you need a new rear bumper made out of something like 6mm steel then maybe use a stub axle from a front wheel assembly for the pivot point then build everything onto that. the jeep bumper would probably tear if you fit too much weight to it.
