Sorry to say, but not if you vehicle has been modified it doesn't, unless they have specifically agreed to it.

Anyone know a good insurer who allows mods and doesn't charge the earth for them?
Try 'Australian 4wd insurance' - they are a brokerage, underwritten by CGU and/or Allianz. They charge me about $1k/year pay by the month plus a $55 brokerage fee each year. Covers me anywhere in Australia so long as it's on a map. This includes offroad. and also covers up to $2500 in camping equipment. I'm 28 rating 1. Driving a '06TJ with suspension mods, and 33's.

I called some 4wd Insurance place and they said no to me because I'm under 25.

Its worth shopping round, as mine is due December. My existing renewal was $1200 but others have quoted me down to a tad over $800 for $18k of value with modifications and windscreen. AND Im an old fellow too with a good history

just redid ours was with DGA but switched to aami, valve of $42G replacement $980 full comp.
But heres were it gets a little fishy i asked to add my son to the list of drivers using the car hes on his Ls the bloke said no problem and no increase on the premium as he will be supervised so no wrys ill get the wife to pay with her card.
She rings up quotes the quote number and is told it will be $1200+ she said why we were just quoted $980 ? well its because your son is on the drivers list.
So son removed i suspect my wife said he would be a regular driver and not a causal one but so be it.
The turbo one is a classic stinger for us diesel drivers they see it as a add on to the premium i tried to explain when i had a turbo diesel car that put of a massive 94KW of raw white nukkle power pushing a 2.3Tonne car yer real speed machine huh but doesnt matter a turbos a turbo apparently.
Regards
John
PS i seen this before with vast differences in premium costs it all depends were you live, they dont ask for your post code without a reason it determins your risk factor, high crime rate for that area = higher premium regardless of what crime are committed. Add your driving history of the last 5 years just to top up the costs.
