Default Xj collector status

Seems that in the US of A, the xj’s value for good examples has really crept up and collectors status is starting to show. Certainly articles are talking about it being a classic now.

My question is - will Australia follow suit?

I would be surprised if values appreciated much, due mainly to sheer numbers made, durability and likely future discouragement of gas guzzlers

a very well-modded, premium resto, or perfect stock item with excellent leather! will always command a premium to the right buyer

just missed another '96, rego'd goer, with ARB bar and tyre carrier $800

. Cherokee's have already hit rock bottom and are appreciating as most classic cars do. Try buying a Falcon coup, Escort or a Torana now.

Always buy cars just before the 25 year mark for max profit..... Crazily enough as I am into French hot hatches, 205 gtis were going for 1-3k last year. This year they've gone to over $10k... I expect the xj to do similar.

Ideally, I want to get my dad a white xj limited pre update..... Ideally clean and not molested, just maintained.... before prices go silly
