(Sorry)

A nudge bar, especially a high one is rarely going to provide any real protection against animal strikes. Small things are most likely to miss the 2 bars and anything big enough to hit both ends at once is going to bend the bar back anyway. They are little more than decoration or a place to hang stuff.
Agree with what you're saying to a certain extent fester, but not on the high nudge bar looks comment.

The factory Mopar nudge bars for the WJ/WG and WH look really good and give the front a more aggressive stance without spoiling the lines too much. Even the one on my wife's KJ looks OK (probably sticks out a little further than a GC's though).

I agree on the ECB Mack Truck front bar, but I suppose it's each to their own when it comes to looks.

I like it, will need to do something about the number plate. I probably wouldn't buy this, really want something as an airdam replacement (pre-runner style) instead.

I know this design is a bit more problematic, but a lower profile, wider set bar would look good. I've also marked the parking sensors on the MY14, your pic seems to block them.

But yeah, satin black would look good!

Hutch- Jeep GC blackhawk 2014.
Black horse do something:

Otherwise, if you want good radiator protection I'd be looking at a uneek bar with single hoop:

http://www.uneek4x4.com.au/my-2014-s...okee-bull-bar/

Nudge bars just aren't solid enough to prevent a roo going through your radiator.

Impact at 100 kph

And another, even with the steel bar, this doesn't look driveable:

@millzzy - I'll be posting more photos from various angles when we have a working prototype.

@Hutch - No plans to make the Nudge Bar any taller, but if you mounted an aerial on it you could still use it to gauge the front of the vehicle. While we've designed the Nudge Bar to be very sturdy, it's not designed to protect against an animal strike.

@mikey61 - Thanks for your reply, it made me notice that we accidentally placed the 3D model for a 2012 WK2 Nudge Bar on the front of 2014 WK2. I've updated my original post with a new photo. As you can see in the updated photo, the Nudge Bar will not obscure the license plate.

@fwdjeep & Benn0 - We're working on a lower air dam replacement designed for off-road that we're calling a WK2 Pre-Runner. I'll post a thread here when we've got some more info.

@Benn0 - When we add our 3D render of the Nudge Bar to a photo of a WK2 they don't always line up exactly. It's more for concept visualisation. The Nudge Bar is designed to avoid the parking sensors and the bar will pass almost in the middle of them. Having said that, there's still real world testing that needs to take place before we can say for sure if the Nudge Bar will be compatible with the parking sensors. I have a 2012 WK2 and it appears there is a gap between the sensors that will allow for a Nudge Bar, but if the sensors are different on newer WK2s this may not be possible.

---

In general, the industry term 'Nudge Bar' is not really that accurate. You shouldn't go around 'nudging' things with them. Ours will be very sturdy (see basic mounting information below) but they are best suited for mounting lights and aerials, as well as possibly providing some basic protection from brush.

A bit of additional information. We're currently planning to make the bar out of 2.5" Stainless Steel tubing with corresponding Stainless Steel bracketry. It will be mounted to the vehicle via a 20mm thick steel plate (zinc undercoated & black powder coated) with 10.9 grade bolts.

Yep, seen the air dam replacement, still not what I was after, but I think it will suit many other owners, well done for filling the void here

Understand what you mean about renders and concepts, I was just pointing out that it is quite difficult to get a nudge bar to avoid the center front sensors on the MY14. It either has to be very narrow, and go inside the center sensors (yuck), or it will have to go between them as you suggest, but will need to go higher than the grille to loop over the center front sensors (oh, and the number plate).

Only other option, as per my mock up, is to stay low and go under the center front sensors.

Anyway, good luck with it, it is great that you are one of the few out there providing decent after market products for the wk2 (add uneek in there too). Well done!

Hey Benn0,

I actually haven't shown our 'air dam replacement' yet. You're probably talking about our WK2 Lower Front Guard, which is meant to sit behind the air dam. We also have a WK2 Pre-Runner were working on, that is a replacement for the front air dam, and may be what you're looking for. I'll post more information about that product in the next month or so. The engineering and development of that product is a bit more challenging and so it is taking a bit more time to get everything 'just right'.

Cheers,
Bill
