We fitted a bar to Cpage66 WJ (do a search for it) and it looked fairly straight forward to make. It came with a carrier pivot and at some point we'll make up a carrier to put on it, I have to speak to Chris about that at some point

Cheers
Steve

It was made in the US by a small fabrication place over there, it wasn't a one off but he did have to wait a bit for it to get done. It had a mounting bracket that sandwiched between the hitch and frame, the bar bolted separately to this. The side protection had to have two additional holes drilled either side for them to mount. Here's the few pics I took with the phone.

You can see the two bolts going through the holes we drilled to mount the side plates

Chris will probably remember more

Cheers
Steve

Steve, thanks ... I sent Chris a PM .. I hope he picks it up soon. Was planning to start tomorrow on a custom made one. It looks like the rear bar from custom4x4 fabrications. Wasn't my prefered option, but now that I know that somebody in here has it installed without major drama I am reconisdering.

Thanks for the info, Dante

There's a WJ I saw near my house recently, had been put on gas and had a rear tyre carrier (I presume a donut tank in the spare well??). Bar looked good, came from (according to the sticker on it) Formula Off Road ph (02) 9833-2333. KNow nothing about the car or the bar except for what i got to see while it was parked outside an "open for inspection" house....

See here http://www.formulaoffroad.com.au/ and go to the rear carrier page - says the Jeep one incorporates the Hayman Reese towbar.

Ah .. that sounds interesting ... looks like something which replaces the current hayman reese and it is just a wheel carrier, not rear bar. That would be another option. Will call them tomorrow. Thanks
