Thanks guys, I got onto E-Bay and found several sellers selling sets of 4 for $51 I take it that if you put one in the spare it won't register?

The rest will be fitted when I get a new set of tyres towards the end of the year, that is assuming no more die till then.

That's right, each wheel has a sensor inside the guard with which it communicates with. The spare wheel does not so is ignored by the system.

Do you happen to know where the sensor is, so I can check to see if there is any physical damage to it, or is it hidden and you need to pull things apart to get to it?

It is hidden on the inside of the guard behind the felt splashwell/inner guard.

That should be pretty well protected, so most likely just the battery then, I will order a set tomorrow. Now all I have to do is find a used replacement mag rim to replace the steel one that I have as the spare.

Just an update, I finally got around to replacing the faulty TPMS, bought a set of 4 sensors for about $50 of E-Bay and it works well, so much for the price from the Jeep dealership, I could have bought 13 of them compared to what the dealership wanted for just one plus fitting was extra. Just drove for about 10 minutes and it registered on the dash with the correct tyre pressure.

I had a close look at the screen for the tyre pressure monitoring and there are 5 dots underneath the listed tyre pressures so maybe there a pickup sensor for the TPMS in the spare as well, one of the dots has a light in it and as the spare doesn't have a TPMS in it, must fit a sensor in the spare wheel one day and see if it does register. Sort of makes sense though.
