Default Chassis Coatings - what & why

After sitting in the shed for a couple or three years the Pointy Nose is finally getting to the top of the list of things to do and should be into her later in the year once I clear the 7 out - plan on a chassis up fix keeping it as stock as possible/feasible.

Done a bit of research on various coatings (paint style) available for the chassis of which there are ample around. Expoxy systems, znic based, special paints, galvanising etc each with their own advantages and disadvantages and of course cost variances ranging from $80/4 litres to $100/1 litre

Just wondering what others who have done simialr rebuild projects have used and why & would you use the same stuff again

I did some research into it too. Many good reports on this kit.

I've used POR-15 on my CJ6 project.
The end result is pretty good, but in the process of fitting/removing/fitting/removing engines, suspension, tubes, the surface has gains fair more scratches & nicks than I expected. But I guess it's 1000% better than it was before.
Just not sure I'd use it again.

the coatings I would recommend

The best coating available right now on the market is (rust bullet) however it is expensive however it comes with a 10 year guarantee don't ask me the fine print it is around 100 dollars a litre and 3.7 Ltr is 350

I would also highly recommend kbs coatings is definitely better than POR-15

KBS RustSeal is cheaper it is 62.00 a litre and 4 Litres - $195.00 however it requires three steps which will bring the overall price up
STEP #1 - AQUAKLEAN
STEP #2 - RUSTBLAST
STEP #3 - RUSTSEAL

also I forgot to tell you that POR-15 is not UV stable and absolutely requires a topcoat

Thanks Guys for the feedback

Was leaning to KBS before the post - still going that way at this stage.
Looking forward to doing this one
