Hmm, I don't get that... Seems general agreement that a 2.5TD XJ kerb weight is 1,630kg, and a 4.0 XJ kerb weight is 1,430kg-1,475kg (depending on info source / model year). So a TD is ~177kg heavier than a petrol.
Some modest variances in transmissions (e.g. NV3550 ~4kg heavier than AX5), axles etc, but surely the largest single factor in that different has to be the (fully dressed) engine, i.e. the weight is up-front on the coils. Am I missing something obvious??
