Default Identifying 5 lug Dana 44s

I have recently seen a couple of CJs with Dana 44 diffs swapped in front and rear.

These are not CJ wide track diffs as they are too wide but they are 5 lug.

From what I have been reading the FSJ and J truck 44s are 6 or 8 lug.

What would they be from or is it that FSJ had a 5 lug in Oz but not the USA?

A bunch of you knowledgeable guys would have done this swap yourself so I'm sure that you would know

Thanks

I run scout Dana 44's same lug pattern. I run 8 inch rims with 6 inch flares and it's spot on.

Are the scout axles common?

Nope, they do come up tho. I got a whole scout for $300, sold the transfer case for $300 so it worked out well.
Heaps of write up online from the states about the scout diff swap. rear swaps in pretty easy, front requires cutting and rotating the front and putting the jeep outer knuckle on.
I love the stance and how it drives and tracks on the road.

If they are uncommon what are you going to do if you break and axle?
Or is there an interchangeable axle from another diff?

Plenty of parts from the states and repco, finding a set for a diff swap would be the hardest part.
They share a lot of the jeep / f100 seals, lockers, bearings. Being Dana its all common.
