Skid Plates
Hey
I am hunting skid plates in QLD. I contacted my dealer and he said he'll get back to me. I looked through justforjeeps.com - perfect and what a bargain, the entire set for $180USD. Checking out and shipping was quoted at $900 USD
I was wondering where did you get your skids and how much did they set you back?
Cheers, John

Sometimes they have them on special at half price, which unfortunatelly I missed out on. I got mine for $800 or so from the local dealer and installed my self, very easy to do appart from the fuel tank one as you need to take out the tail shaft and drop the tank. Well worth the investment thats for sure!
Cheers Vlad.

Hey John,
I had mine fitted prior to delivery - from memory they varied but were around $175 each.
In regard to purchasing from the US, do you know if Justforjeeps.com ships to freight forwarder addresses?
Some businesses are funny about this, but using a freight forwarder can save you a heap in freight costs (on top of the savings on the actual items).
If they give you the green light you'd only have to request an estimate of package shipping size and weight to see if your forwarding options were within your budget.
Cheers,
Rey

G'day fellas,
The 2011 LTD I bought had standard covers on the front and fuel tank, so all id need is the transfer? Did you guys have these standard covers did you still end up buying all three skid plates?

Yeah the standard fuel tank skid on the 2010 model is very weak and bent quite easily, I was lucky not to do damage to the tank it self. I ripped this out and installed the proper one, havent looked back.
Cheers Vlad...

Mine where 135 each for Tranny and Transfer + 325 for fuel tank, but to tell you truth I would have the dealer fit the tank one. It was a REAL biatcha. But the std Aus limited comes with mopar motor and weaker style fuel plates.
In hindsight I prob would'nt change the fuel tank one if I did it again.
Specially now I have my lift kit on .... oh yeah.
Cheers Steve
PS....I believe from the Jeep inventory computer that my dealer looked on, that I purchased the last Mopar Transfer plate available in Aus.
