Anyone else find the axle and chief bash sump protector comes loose after bumps/where both plates meet. I dont mean entirely loose, but enough that you can tighten it 3/4 of a turn again.

Why? Because you can feel a clunk when it is not extremely tight.

Screwed into the attached.

Funnily enough I was just under mine tonight checking the replacement bolts I put in the front of my Trans Guard. They are into those same OEM threaded clips also. Now I can’t guarantee that I fully tightened them when I installed originally but I am pretty sure I did. Going away again for Easter so see how they fair.

I should have clarified that mine came completely out at some point during the Holland track trip recently.

Well that is the thing. I did mine up very tight a couple weeks that Ive had them. Then heard the clunck and knew they would be the new axle plate and chiefs.

Im also heading away this Friday to bremer bay, so I will be carrying a few m8x50mm bolts and the new clips which came with the mopar skid plates(which I did not use). I wouldnt imagine the new clips are any different to what was on the car...

Just hope I dont lose the axle plate before then...

I have spent the last hour taking off the axle plate and chief, and replaced the nut clips. Yes, the nut clip that was on mine were useless. I could very much slide the nut out on one of them. All good now.

Also am using a longer M8 bolt, 60mm instead of the one that came with the Chief 50mm.

You guys prompted me to check mine, I torqued them to (Chief) spec when installed and they haven't moved/are still tight.

During the easter weekend, did heaps of beach driving as we camped on the beach. First time out with the mopar underbody + cheifs sump protector.

I must be collecting a tonne more sand in various places.... i can hear grinding noises on the underbody moving parts(drivetrain??) on both fwd and reverse gears! None of which were engine related as it did not get worse on engine rev..., sound got louder as you move faster..

Sound mimics like a hole in the muffler.

After the 3rd day, that noise started to fade away/completely disappear, I guess with the sand falling out from the trays???

I cant think of anything else.
