I test drove a Limited for shirts and giggles while someone was out with the dealership's only JKU demo.
I am a fairly big guy, 6'3 and 130kg (maybe a bit more) and other than the timeshare agreement we had to agree to for the centre armrest, I found the little Fiat, er I mean Jeep, surprisingly spacious. It felt nice and composed around the few corners that we went and it rides quite comfortably.
The interior has lots in common with the JK in its design but it feels better quality than the JK although the radio's screen is laughably tiny (my Nexus 6's screen was bigger).
The 1.4T engine in the 500X, er I mean Renegade, was quite torquey but I needed to wind it up to get going. The 6 speed auto (dual clutch iirc) felt very busy, like it could never make up its mind and stick with a gear for too long.
I could imagine myself using it for a cool looking city/commuting car that can haul some groceries and maybe a kid or two every now and then.
As long as you accept that it is not a traditional Jeep, there is only one big hurdle that I don't think even the loyalest loyalist can overlook - it's around $42k for the Limited and $46k for the Trailhawk version. There are better cars in that price class imho.
