rear upper bushing woes
Hi all. Have been having trouble with my rear upper bushings (heim joints) going out at the chassis end. Running 4 1/2 lift with teraflex monster short arms. I have adjusted them a few times and am back as far as i can go without the track bar hitting the petrol tank during flex. Pinion angle is pretty good. Also some other bushings are worn at the rear upper axle end. Vic said he's never even sold a pair of them.
I was told by a mechanic that to fix it, would need to convert to long arms and completely change the angle(i dont want to do that because of the cost involved, and I worry about losing my center point of gravity)
I also had the same problem with my first lift kit, which was a trailmaster 4" lift with fixed arms. the rear upper bushings go out. ( I had off brand adjustable uppers)
I have ordered a complete set of bushings (8 arms) from Vic at SBR, plus all new bushings for the front upper axle, and sway bar bushings.
Im going to have a private bushing party over a couple days when my parts arrive. was just wondering if anybody had the same problem after setting up their jeep? Just keep in mind, teraflex sells a 4" kit with short arms...
