It's the other way around in a diesel. Excess fuel or lack of air leads to increased EGT.
The main issue I have with the Tillix valve is that there is no reference on engine load. Vane control is done based on calculated engine load, current boost level and engine speed. That's why you see it jump up and down quickly, the ECU reacts to changes in all those parameters.
