Only thing I'd add is (as mentioned above) stay away from mounting near the battery.....batteries and heat are enemies, and compressors get very hot.
I've got one in a bag and I added an Anderson plug in the back to power it.....I have a long lead that lets me carry it where I want. Downside is I have to remember to put it in the JK, lol.

Since the relay for the winch died, (and since I never really needed the winch, I haven't bought a new relay), I put my ARB single in the winch spot in the front bar. Had it under the bonnet on the right side on a tray for several years prior to that. Works well in either place.

I wouldn't want to try and operate one underwater but they can handle being submerged. Having said that, the air intake can be repositioned away from the compressor if required.

I've done the same. I had an ARB single mounted under the passenger seat and it was great until I wanted to put some air in the caravan tyres. The hose wouldn't reach and it was a case of unhitch the van and move the Jeep. When I got the new Rubi I decided to just put it in a bag and power it from the anderson plug on the rear bar, the standard ARB hose can reach all the car tyres and the caravan's from the back. Mine lives in the car all the time.
